Vigneswara is the Lord of success and destroyer of obstacles to gain knowledge, wisdom and wealth.
Lord Ganesha is known from Vedic culture. He is also known as the ultimate God. We know him as the son of Parvathy, with an elephants head. He is intelligent and brave.
He is an excellent scribe; as the great saint and poet VedaVyasa  dictates the slokas of Mahabhatha he inscribed  them on dry Borassus leaves without any break. A scribe requires good knowledge of language, concentration and physical stamina. Why should we remember Lord Vigneswara, because to learn the things perfectly, without any inhibitions. He never feels ashamed to be a scribe, his humbleness, dedication should be respected, worshiped. We have to learn to complete the tasks even though there are difficulties and hurdles, we have to remember Lord Vigneswara, and pray him to give us energy to work like him. He is a good example to boost our mental capabilities.  If everyone works like Lord Ganesha our country regains the great traditions and riches. May God Ganesha bless every one with good mental makeup. It is a festival of Nature.

Note:There may be some differences in the texts, in some texts instead of Jambeera patram, gandaki patram is given. the names and order is also slightly different. I have followed the text published by TTD book "sacred plants:
While collecting the leaves for Vinayaka puja, some precautions have to be observed.
Ganneru is a poisonous plant, swallowing of 1-2 leaves may lead to death in children.
Seeds of Datura are also poisonous, the fruits are spiny, warn your children while enjoying the festival;
The latex of Calotropis is a ophthalmic poison, without any irritation the eye sight is lost if the milky liquid contacts with  the eyes. Observe your children, and tell them not put the hand in your eyes unless washed with soap. Till today there is no cure for this poisoning.
Ziziphus-regu, Maredu, vakudu are spiny plants, they may hurt you.
Lord Ganesha is a God of intellect. He indicates that in this world there are good and bad  persons around us like  tulasi, garika like non-poisonous plants and jilledu to ummetta like poisonous plants; but all are useful in some way;  "I consider all in similar way; learn how to deal with people like these thorny or poisonous plants and get the best from them". Good wishes.

Since the patri sold in the market contains some weeds which are allergic to humans; Eg. Instead of machipatram, Pitchimachapatri or the congress grass – Parthenium hysterophorus is sold.
Celebrate the festival in an environmentally friendly way. Since I am a Botany lecturer I have provided the images I got from my camera. This is to educate the unconcerned people on Nature.
Whenever you handle poisonous plants be careful, never put your fingers or hand in the eyes or rub your eyes with the plant sap.

Aganosma dichotoma)
